Part of the spectacular footage shows what WW2 military aircraft flying over the Atlantic would have met, as they made their way over the North west coast by consulting their map; they were then in turn able to see where they were at or at least where they should not have been flying over.
Technically, we were a country that was neutral in WW2, but along with the markings that were known to Allied planes, there was a secret air corridor in south Donegal between Ballyshannon and Bundoran, which allowed Allied planes and flying boats to fly direct into Fermanagh, Castle Archdale and further afield.
